Endless Possibilities. 5.5 Design

This is such a clever idea I just want to plant one immediately. I don't really have a green thumb but it seems to me you could have a tremendous amount of fun with these focal piece planted benches by 5.5 design. Instead of the sculpted bushes which I love you could do a combination of annuals and perennials and create little gardens that could change with the seasons. I love this idea. So cleeeever, k

Clean and Simple, Claudine Lesk

Love love the clean simple lines and fabric motif of Claudine Lesk's notecard line. And given that previous posts on Kstyle have been rather high end lately I thought it appropriate to leave the higher end but oh so awesome real live quilts that she does at least a click away. so to see more from this amazing artist well just click away, k
And on another note: I am in the market for a new laptop. Mine has been been schlepped around the world and while has served me well it is definitely time to move on. But help fellow bloggers. I am totally overwhelmed by all of the choices. So here's what I need and if you have any advice to offer please please weigh in. My biggest need is first and foremost speed. As in I am working in Photoshop CS2 and maybe I even have Dreamweaver 8 open at the same time. I am tired of slogging around these high end graphics programs. I am prepared to spend a bit of money for said speed although a laptop it must be because I like to work "wherever". I am open to the intel based macbook that can operate windows. But all I really care about is speed. I am not a gamer and I would like lighter rather than heavy. A fifteen inch screen would be fine. That is what I have now. I hope someone out there has just been through this dilemma. What to get??? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. k

The Wow Factor, Michael and Maureen Banner

One of the fun things about doing Kstyle everyday is that I really have no agenda other than that my finds meet my own personal aesthetic in some way. I'm not worried about cost or even whether or not my finds would "work" in my personal space. So when I came across this gorgeous work by artists Michael and Maureen Banner I was totally okay with the fact that I would have to win the lottery to afford a single piece. But how fun are blogs where we can just sit back and enjoy the glorious creativity and beauty that so many talented artists are creating for us every single day. such talent, k

The Wow Factor, Ithaa

Okay guys, This is my idea of the ultimate restaurant. Ithaa (The Pearl) is the first of its kind in the world and sits 5 meters under the water at the Hilton Maldives Resort and Spa. I have no idea what the food is about but well who cares when the view is a one of a kind. Go to spulch.com and check out the rest of the pics. Will literally take your breath away. i want to go there, k

Inspired by Nature, Mary Kanda

I'm not sure why I am so attracted by pretty much all things inspired by nature but as I'm sure you can tell here on Kstyle it is a consistent and predominant theme. There is something so beautiful about the shapes and colors that surround us outdoors every day that just cannot be outdone. It really seems to me that our natural world is designs greatest asset. So it will come as no surprise that I love this work by jewelry artist Mary Kanda. thank you mother nature, k

For The Pottery Lover, Hannah Niswonger

I Love Whimsy and Pears

I love this gorgeous coffee table by Mark Levin. Yes, the fact that it is a pear just totally captures my love of whimsy and fun but even more fun the stem is detachable, magically held in place or not by a powerful magnet. How clever is that. would love to design a room around this, k

Inspired By Nature and a Wow

I have to say that before I started Kstyle I thought I knew what a ring looked like. But never in my wildest dreams could I have envisioned a ring like this. Or a necklace for that matter with little floating pots of grass. This work by Agnes Maria really takes my breath away. How wonderfully creative and again I think you can tell that Spring is calling to me. Spent the day out on the river with my boys today and it really did feel like our long winter season is finally starting to give way. k

Cleeeeever, Schleeh Design

How clever are these "malleable paper pad sculptures" by design firm Schleeh Design. Each one and there are quite a few other designs can be twisted and shaped to your whim not to mention printed in the colors of your choice. I love these. Useful and fun at the same time. how cleeeeever, k
