As I'm sure most of you know by now my son "The Fisherman" is a photo-journalisn major at SOU and his constant mantra to me is "Mom, it's all about the magic hour". That time 1/2 hour after sunrise and a 1/2 hour before sunset when the light and color combine to exude a passionate warmth unparalleled at any other time during the day. In my opinion artist Tracy Helgesen captures this "magic hour" brilliantly in her collection of landscape paintings. They just glow and I would love, love to design a room or an entire home around her stunning collection. in awe, k

I love the whole concept of a magic hour. And yes, I think we all need one every day;-)
Hi Maryam
The second painting down reminded me of your newly planted cypress grove. So regal and strong. k
beautiful. very wolf kahn like.
I've always considered that twilight time to be the most beautiful in the world. I'm not often awake prior to sunrise so i can't vouch for it. These paintings are serene and so rich in color. Thanks for sharing, K.
Photo journalist, sounds like a wonderful profession. I love the third picture down, the pinks, reds and oranges so beautiful.
Thanks Karen, for the very flattering words about my work. I love what you've said about the magic hour-and it's true-best light ever!
These landscapes are able to establish a sense of calm with such vibrant colors. I love the first painting – the pink tree in the grove.
i love the abstract take on traditional landscape artwork. i love how the colors just melt together!
I love the magic hour. When I lived in the Philippines, it was even more magic, I have never seen anything greener that rice fields during the magic hour.
