It's a Dog Thing

I'm sure you can tell by this post that I'm needing a doggie fix right now. Especially in lieu of our recent robbery I am definitely craving something soft and furry and "ferocious" in a good way. I saw one of these gorgoeus soaps from Gianna Rose Atelier while out to lunch in neighboring Jacksonville this weekend and the detail and the packaging are really outstanding. The perfect gift, especially for k.

It's a Dog Thing

If you've been following Kstyle for awhile you know that dogs just seem to find me even if I can't have one right now. And this one is ultra special because it reminds me of Mikey our beagle who is taking great care of my mother right now. You can find lots of amazing softies and other great stuff at Elsita's etsy store which I found via darling blog softies central. how cute is this?

Designer Dog Duds

Well I really don't know what to say about these "couture" doggie outfits from Puchi. Yes I've always loved beautiful clothes, I really do but I'm just not sure it goes beyond my own personal closet. Would I if I could? Hmmm, I think I'm going to leave this one up to you. Yay or nay. What do you Kstyle readers think? Should we dress our doggies in the world's doggie's finest or should we be content with their gorgeous natural coats. i'd love to know what you think, k

Doggie Paddle, The Photojournalist

Hi everyone. By now most of you know that my middle son is a photojournalist for The Mail Tribune here in Medford, Oregon and just had to share his latest assignment. To say his assignments are diverse is an understatement. But this one has to be my absolute favorite thus far. So to set the stage we have a community pool in Medford (right next to Ashland) which has started a very popular tradition in our neck of the woods. At the end of every summer the Parks and Recreation dept. drain the pool and just for fun and well why not INVITE any and all dogs and their owners to come in and swim for the day as it drains out for the season. So that was the assignment. Go take a picture of dogs having a great day. And if you want to experience pure dog joy just take a look at these pics. gotta love a dog in the water, k

It's A Dog Thing, 5.5 Design

Somehow I missed this darling item from 5.5 Designers which I posted on a while back. Such a clever idea. And the variations are endless. The whole place setting can screw into just about anything. I love the fruit "handles". k

R and I had a great albeit marathon trip to Las Vegas. Wow what a blitz of total stimuli coming from every direction. We saw Celine Dion, fabulous, and the Phantom of the Opera, also fabulous walked miles at the Contemporary Art Show and ran all over the strip via the monorail in 3 days. So needless to say am still unpacking and unwinding and will be back with Kstyle full force in the coming days.

Also I am going to be revamping Kstyle into a three column format which will take a bit of time and may cause some visual issues as I work on it so know that in the end I hope it will add more space and "real estate" for all the great design that is going on just about everywhere. Will keep you posted on this process as I start to make the transition. Glad to be home in beautiful Oregon. k

It's a Dog Thing

I was browsing in historic Jacksonville the other day which is only about a half hour from Ashland when I saw these absolutely darling little tin doggies made to decorate wine bottles. Always a sucker for anything dog I fell in love. There were at least four different styles all equally cute and while not on their website you could inquire at Terra Firma Home, a delightful design store found in both Jacksonville and Medford. so fun, k

Wurst Galleries

Thank you to Design Sponge for turning me on to the Wurstminster dog show via Wurst Gallery in Portland, Oregon. Such a fun concept. Artists from all over the country "reserved" a dog and then sent in an original work depicting their dog of choice. these were two of my favorites. can you guess what breeds they are. never one to miss a dog photo op, k

Thank you to Jessica over at Funky Finds for turning me on to these Sock Dog stuffies that I absolutely love and that you can find at Manda's Etsy shop here. Are these too cute or what? I want them all. As you know I can't have a dog right now and I would almost settle for a whole slew of these. k

It's a Dog Thing

Just had to throw in this darling dog brooch I came across while browsing Gumps another Kstyle favorite. For those of you who are new to Kstyle I grew up in Burlingame just south of SF and Gumps was a favorite destination when we headed to "The City" on a shopping expedition. I really think I began my love of good design wandering around this groundbreaking store. One of my very favorites. k
