Happy New Year everyone! I'm so excited to
head into 2007 with all of you who have helped
to make kstyle such a fun and creative place.

There are lots of new things to come on kstyle
including a full website for my lampwork beads
and jewelry which you will be able to access
with a click of the mouse. I've been working
hard on it and with some good luck and the website
gods on my side I hope to have it up and running
by the end of January.

Oh and you'll want to stay tuned for some really
fun posts in the next few days to get the 2007 year
started with a kstyle bang. Cheers friends, k

A Little Treat, Carribean Hearts

These are so gorgeous I just had to post. Same design as
earlier bead set but different color palate. Makes me want to find
the nearest beach. You can find these beads by Mondring on ebay
right now. A little treat, k

The Wow Factor

I came across these amazing photos via spulch of the world's
longest painting ever made by children located in Bucharest
Romania a Guinness Book world record. Thought you might like
to see. I wonder if any of my readers have actually seen this in
person. I can only imagine how many children were involved.
Awesome , k

Stylin With Birds, Figs and Ginger

I love these sterling silver birds by figs and ginger which
I spotted on design sponge awhile back. Just wanted to make
sure you didn't miss this darling line and the rest of the
jewelry is equally fun. Am working with silver myself right
now as I try to line my bead charms so I am really appreciating
what goes into each and everyone of these hand cut birds.
And if you look closely you'll notice that each one is unique
and can be ordered specifically. enjoy, k

First Annual Sorry Tree Progressive Dinner Party! The Appetizers

The Appetizers
Well I promised I would dish on our big party this year so here are some fabulous pics of our first annual sorry tree progressive dinner. "So you think you have the perfect tree?" read our invitations. "Well think again. You're tree is about to be reviewed!" And so it went. Four homes, the appetizers, the salad, the soup and the dessert. And four "sorry trees" with all sorts of "creative infractions". Some were roasted for being artificial, a definite rule breaker, some for being politically incorrect (only dog ornaments and no cats), too sentimental, or so you think you're Martha Stewart do you? The party was a great success, we've lined up a few more "sorry tree" victims for next year and oh one of these houses is mine but you're just going to have to guess which one for now. enjoy, k

Coming Up For Air

Hi everyone. Just want you to know I have had my head buried since xmas working on my jewelry website and other new year resolutions which include learning to line my beads in silver and then eventually gold. Have bought the supplies and will be spending the next few weeks probably wasting a lot of good silver but I am determined to take my lampworking to the next level. So hang in there with me. Will be back to posting soon and there's lots of fun to come on kstyle in 2007. k

5 minutes so we could get the perfect shot. So

holiday with friends and family and also a special
thank you to all who have dropped by my second
home called Kstyle and helped to make it such a fun
and festive place

Bragging Again!

The "fisherman" is in Mexico for the holidays working on some
portfolio shots and I think he got one in this amazing pic of a
green sea turtle heading back into the surf after laying her
eggs on the warm sandy beaches in El Farro. Pretty sure this
will qualify for that portfolio he's putting together to apply
for internships after finally(yay) completing his photo
journalism major at Sou. I know I'm bragging but every once
in awhile I just can't help it. k

I Love Whimsy and Pottery and Birds

Here is another fabulous resource for original ceramic art found in Australia which I discovered via modamuse blog. All Handmade Gallery is bursting with creativity and whimsy so plan on spending a bit of time here. k

The Wow Factor

I was making my daily morning coffee visits the other
day and by the way they are getting quite substantial
when I came across this wow photo of a lampwork bead
necklace by artist Jenine Bressner that really knocked me
over. First let me say that I was visiting decor 8 and second
that Jason from Rag and Bone Bindery actually took
this photo. And then let me say that this is one tremendous
piece of work and extremely heavy I might add.. I've seen
a lot of lampwork but nothing quite like this and it definitely
qualifies for "The Wow Factor" at Kstyle. And if that's not
enough the second piece shown above, the light and airy delicate
piece is really representative of what this artist does. Go figure.
had to share, k

I Love Whimsy and the Holidays

I was hanging out over at Holly's Plate yesterday and fell in love with the darling santa cookie jar from Dept 56 so I went to do a bit of exploring and look what I found. Yes more stylin birds, a happening penquin and the perfect holiday bottle stoppers. Great find Holly. k

Hot Handbags Under $100

I'm definitely in a black and white mood after seeing
"The Holiday" yesterday with my friend C. The movie
was really fun but the clothes were even better and it
doesn't get better than the black and white coat that
Cameron Diaz wore. And trust me if you saw the movie
you know exactly what coat I am talking about. So while
clearly not THE coat this fabulous black and white
purse is a close second. I found it this morning while
browsing on blog Athena Says and you can find it
at online boutique House+Wear. Lots of goodies here. k

For the Pottery Lover, Lilach Lotan

I love the clean edited and playful style of ceramic
artist Lilach Lotan. Any one of them would be perfect
for the red roses that I always do at xmas time. Another
gorgeous collection from The Artful Home. k
ps. Found some more work by this amazing artist
here. Check it out, k

It's A Dog Thing!

By now you all know that I love dogs and unfortunately cannot have a dog right now so I have to be content with the occasional substitute as in these darling dog salt and pepper shakers by ceramic artist Laura Wilensky. While definitely not Holly's Ed they do make me smile and you can find them here at The Artful Home. love these, k

Stylin With Birds, Ann Wood

I was reading design sponge this morning about the upcoming Gift on Grand show and followed the link to the artists in the show which led me to this wonderful line of fabric art birds by artist Ann Wood. I love them which of course is no surprise to readers of kstyle. Spend some time on Ann's amazing sight. the birds are stylin, k

How Did I Miss This "K"?

How did I miss these fantastic mongram bolsters and other
very unique mongram originals by designer jenni hopkins
for the Holiday Xmas Scramble Contest. I don't remember
what I chose for my "k" but I'm sure I would have liked this
even better. Be sure to check out jenni's website. Lot's of
very cute monogram products here. k

Out of My Kiln, Yummy Greens and Blues

Have been busy all weekend filling last minute holiday orders and I thought you might like to see my latest creations. I love the greens, teals, and blues that combine to make the mosaics and water drops just pop out. The glass is even more gorgeous when reflecting sunlight. enjoy, k

Note:I am in the process of creating a website for my glass jewelry with easy access to my whole range of beads and charms right here on kstyle. May also include an etsy shop and of course I will continue to sell my work on ebay. It's always a matter of time but I am dedicated to getting this up and running soon. For now though you'll have to let me know through email if you're interested in ordering any of my jewelry. So much to do and so little time. Take care, k

Passionate About Lampwork, Abednegobeads

it would be to wear this unique and festive necklace to
all the parties this season. R I hope your scouring my blog
for xmas hints but somehow I doubt it. You can find this

Passionate About Lampwork, Mondring

I was browsing the lampwork category on ebay late last night and I came across these gorgeous heart beads by artist I. Mondring. They are so lovely I just had to share. The color range of murano glass that we use to create the beads is fairly well represented here. These are currently for sale on ebay here. so yummy, k

A Well Designed Holiday, Ornaments

These are just a few of my favorite holiday ornaments this season and yes there is really no theme going on here other than that they have caught my eye. I love the shells with the purple sheen by Gumps and if I had daughters the shifts by Lilly Pulitzer are oh so girly cute. Then again the simple graphic stripes by Garnet Hill really satisfy my clean and graphic edited style. You can find these in order of appearance at Kate Spade, Stray Dog, Rose and Radish, Gumps 1,2&3, Lilly Pulitzer, Traylor Papers (these maybe sold out) Jonathon Adler, Garnet Hill and finally Unica Home. hope you enjoy, k

Ps. I first saw the kate spade ornaments via absolutely beautiful. While out of stock can usually be found on ebay.

Sweet moment: Just got back from a swim meet with water boy and while our team did great the sweetest moment came for me when two fifteen year old boys from the other team sang the national anthem in a cappella all decked out in their speedos. Just picture that and smile. k
