Now This Might Have Worked

Computer problems still and low battery but wanted to show you these darling ceramic plates for kids by artist Heike Fritz. It was always a struggle to get my kids to eat when they were babies. I think these adorable plates would have helped a lot. Soooo cute, k

Cakes On My Mind

Spent the day up in Grants Pass at a specialty bakery where C and I ordered the cake for the big wedding in July. It's going to be gorgeous. Simple white fondant frosting with white pearl dots scattered in a random pattern and Ann Woods gorgeous bird bride and groom on top. (see below). In the meantime in my wedding blog travels I came across these darling monogram purse cakes by the Cakegirls. And check out there wedding cakes too. fabulous, k

K Candy, Velvet Da Vinci Gallery

I'm really fascinated by the "ring that's more than a ring" concept that I see from time to time in my blogging travels. These are just 5 from the 200 ring exhibit that you can view in total at the Velvet Da Vinci Gallery online. Not sure about the wearability but wow are they fun to look at. just a little ring candy today, k

Freedom Tee

I promised you a pic of our English project so here it is modeled by "waterboy" himself. If it looks like it is swimming on him it is. We had to use a xxl tee in order to fit all of the quotes and passages on freedom. My son did all of the design in photoshop. Then you have to reverse all of the images and type, then print onto tee shirt transfer paper which you can buy at office depot, and then cut out and iron on the tee. I will admit to doing most of the ironing. Well let's face it, most 15 yr old boys do not have great ironing skills. The good news is the teacher loved it and he had fun "wearing" his project into class.
Having computer issues. My new macbook is in the shop and so will be posting on old computer this week. Noticed that on this screen I can only see two columns. Third column has defaulted way down at the bottom.
What can you see? Are you seeing 3 columns or only two. Would love to know if I am dealing with a big problem or just here on my somewhat old screen. Thanks in advance. k

Look What's Blooming from my Computer!

Well I'm finally done with high school finals YAY! and now I'm back into wedding mode for my friend C. The wedding is a mere 3 weeks away so we are in full swing with all of sorts of design details. I designed these Tulip programs/fans which will hang on the back of over 300 chairs for ceremony. These are my two favorite designs out of about 6 different concepts that I created. The fans will all be hand cut into the tulip shapes. And what you don't see yet is the gorgeous hand made pressed flower paper with yellow/gold marigolds and tiny green stems which will line the back of the tulips. So which design is your favorite??? We will be deciding in the next few days and then go to work. Will show you the finished product when we finish. k
Oh and no one guessed the English project. It would have been a tough guess but then you guys never cease to amaze me. Will post pics soon. k

Fun Today On Kstyle, Contest

I've been working all day with my son who has yet another major project due on Tuesday for his English class. And I mean major. To simplify he has to do a "visual" presentation of all of the
quotes from all of the readings and work he has done over the year pertaining to the concept of FREEDOM. The finished project had to incorporate the quotes from at least 28 sources and be presented in a creative 3 dimensional way. So Ksytlers I'm offering you a little CONTEST today. If you can guess what we did for the project I will send you a pair of dangle Kstyle lampwork earrings Free! So guess away. I will publish a pic of finished product next week.
oh and friends and fam ssssh please don't tell, k
The gorgeous metal wall sculpture trees can be found here at Artsy Abode, k

Stone Forest

For some reason I am not often attracted to outdoor fountains. They're often just too busy or cutsey for me. But I love, love these. And if I wasn't exhausted and extremely busy right now with big party tomorrow night and other projects like high school final cut and pastes I'd spend some time on the whole kitchen and bathroom line by this amazing company. So click on over to Stone Forest web site right now. i promise you will be glad you did. k

Ice Bucket Drama

It's party week at K's house and I'm having a few dramas as in ice buckets. R and I pretty much went to every possible place to buy one here in Ashland or Medford and trust me none of the ones we saw looked anything like ANY of the ones you see above. So until I can take my time and order one of the above, like the first one from Gumps I just going to borrow one for the black jacl party friday night. who knew they would be so hard to find! k

Also I somehow lost my links for above ice buckets other than I know the first set come from Gumps. And since I'm doing a lampwork for demo for 22 ladies tonight I don't have time to find them all again. So hope none of you are needing an ice bucket anytime soon. k

It's a Mini, Flora Bowley

I got a really fun email today from Flora Bowley one of my favorite artists. She has just introduced a whole new group of "mini" paintings which are just gorgeous and ultra affordable. Be sure to hop on over to her site to see the full collection. Flora is also introducing a new concept which is fantastic. She is hiring herself out as "artist of wedding". She actually attends the wedding and draws sketches throughout the day and then from her sketches paints a wonderful original piece "inspsired" by the wedding for the lucky couple. The painting below is one of her wedding pieces. how amazing it would be to have one of these. k

Om Home

With a name like Om Home you can be pretty sure that I am going to be attracted to just about everything this company has to offer. I love the contemporary take on the embroidered and ethnic look and I would absolutely love to decorate a room or table around these gorgeous homewares. In fact Holly over at Decor 8 is sponsoring a contest which asks her readers to design a room they would like to live in and then create a real time collage depicting this room. Unfortunately I didn't have time to participate in this fun contest but if I had I would have loved to have used the pillows in this gorgeous line as an inspiration for an outdoor room. maybe next time, k
