Stylin With Clocks, 2

Well here are a few more "stylin" clocks I thought you might like to see. I love the soft clock in the last pic. Very sort of surreal. In order of appearance you can find these at The Artful Home, Thomas Mann Design and Kiki World.

Snap.com update: For those of you who visited Kstyle over the weekend and experienced my snap.com widget for a few days and left comments thank you. In the end although I like the basic concept I feel it is too indiscriminate with links so I have disabled until they get the program a little further along. Fun to try but not quite there yet.Oh and if you want to see it in action go to dress your nest blog and check it out. k

Slide Show Saturday

I'm going to start a new event at kstyle called Slideshow Saturday which I hope will be a vehicle to really promote some of the fabulous artists and designers that I have the privelege to become aware of as I navigate this amazing arena on the net. It seems like every day I see the work of yet another fabulous creative talent and one photo just doesn't do justice. So today I am introducing artist Camille Young and her wonderful whimsical line of polymer clay flowers and garden jewelry. Go to her site here to see her full line and take some time to enjoy her creative collection right here on Kstyle. Hope you enjoy, k

Not Sure Why I Like This

I've been looking for the perfect "find" to introduce this new Kstyle frequent post category and "The Poodle Butt" by designer J. Schatz definitely fits the bill. I have no idea why I like this but in fact I absolutely love. Probably a combination of the whimsy thing and the dog thing and then the butt thing thrown in for good measure. Oh and it just makes me smile. And if your into pink poodles the Poodle Butt comes in a nice pink as well as black and cocoa. Love this, k

It's a Dog Thing

Just had to throw in this darling dog brooch I came across while browsing Gumps another Kstyle favorite. For those of you who are new to Kstyle I grew up in Burlingame just south of SF and Gumps was a favorite destination when we headed to "The City" on a shopping expedition. I really think I began my love of good design wandering around this groundbreaking store. One of my very favorites. k

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend. I'll be timing at a huge swim meet with waterboy. What we moms do for our kids. Take care and talk soon. k

New Kid On The Block

Hi everyone. Thought I'd introduce a new frequent Kstyle post topic along with a "New Kid On the Block" and that would be Decor Next Door a new photo-sharing interior design website which looks like it will be a lot of fun and right up our designing alley. I like the nice clean look. I might actually be able to figure out how to navigate this creative new site. enjoy, k

Beads + Flowers = Notecards Barlely Style

I was glancing through Michael's website when Isaw these amazing note cards which are so so clever. Now why didn't I think of that. Use my beads as tiny little vases and fill with flowers and then photograph, maybe use a little photoshop magic and poof "something new". I will definitely be ordering some of these because the truth is I can't quite make beads like Michael Barlley. At least not yet any way. k

Passionate About Lampwork, Michael Barley

Browsing ebay again I came across this stunning bead by lampwork artist Michael Barley. It is currently selling on ebay and at this posting had about 21 hours left. This is remarkable work and I really wanted you to see it. I am constantly amazed at the level some lampworkers take this art form to. You can see more of Michael"s gorgeous work here. enjoy, k

Stylin With Shoes, Finale

I know how obsessed we are about our shoes but I had no idea what an artform they could take. I love to explore a particular theme and all the different creative possibilities and we will do it a lot here at Kstyle. The shoes have been breathtaking Only wish my real ones were as much fun . In order of appearance find these spectacular pieces at my metal formz, ceramics by colleen and Graine Morton earrings. enjoy, k
I'm thinking maybe clocks next or maybe not. stay tuned. k

I found It At Fickr

Lulu and I are introducing a new frequent post category at kstyle and if you check out the sidebar you'll see that I've added a few others. I'm sure most of my readers are aware of flickr and the treasure trove of fun and creativity that resides there. I will be sharing some of my flickr finds from my eye candy travels and this darling photo of Lu Lu will be my first. For more photos of Lu Lu and trust me they are beyond cute go here and be sure to spend some time on one of the most amazing eye candy resources on the net. enjoy k

Happy New Year everyone! I'm so excited to
head into 2007 with all of you who have helped
to make kstyle such a fun and creative place.

There are lots of new things to come on kstyle
including a full website for my lampwork beads
and jewelry which you will be able to access
with a click of the mouse. I've been working
hard on it and with some good luck and the website
gods on my side I hope to have it up and running
by the end of January.

Oh and you'll want to stay tuned for some really
fun posts in the next few days to get the 2007 year
started with a kstyle bang. Cheers friends, k

The Wow Factor

I came across these amazing photos via spulch of the world's
longest painting ever made by children located in Bucharest
Romania a Guinness Book world record. Thought you might like
to see. I wonder if any of my readers have actually seen this in
person. I can only imagine how many children were involved.
Awesome , k

Stylin With Birds, Figs and Ginger

I love these sterling silver birds by figs and ginger which
I spotted on design sponge awhile back. Just wanted to make
sure you didn't miss this darling line and the rest of the
jewelry is equally fun. Am working with silver myself right
now as I try to line my bead charms so I am really appreciating
what goes into each and everyone of these hand cut birds.
And if you look closely you'll notice that each one is unique
and can be ordered specifically. enjoy, k

First Annual Sorry Tree Progressive Dinner Party! The Appetizers

The Appetizers
Well I promised I would dish on our big party this year so here are some fabulous pics of our first annual sorry tree progressive dinner. "So you think you have the perfect tree?" read our invitations. "Well think again. You're tree is about to be reviewed!" And so it went. Four homes, the appetizers, the salad, the soup and the dessert. And four "sorry trees" with all sorts of "creative infractions". Some were roasted for being artificial, a definite rule breaker, some for being politically incorrect (only dog ornaments and no cats), too sentimental, or so you think you're Martha Stewart do you? The party was a great success, we've lined up a few more "sorry tree" victims for next year and oh one of these houses is mine but you're just going to have to guess which one for now. enjoy, k
